We are always pleased to consider items for donation to the collections. When you offer us items, we consider them in relation to:

Donations to the Alexander Turnbull Library collections

The Alexander Turnbull Library was established in 1920 following Turnbull’s bequest to the nation of his magnificent library. Since then it has continued to depend on the generosity of individuals, whanau and organisations, whose gifts have enriched our collections for the benefit of researchers everywhere.

The Library collects a wide range of materials relating to New Zealand and the Pacific. Other collection areas include non-New Zealand and Pacific books from before 1800, and fine printing.

Donations to the Digital Collections

The Turnbull is actively seeking digital material to add to our collections. We’re eager to take a look at your digital content, and if it’s in line with our collections policy, see about adding it to our holdings. This is a diverse and rapidly growing collection area, and it's much broader than just digital files.
